"If she was a drink, she’d be single barrel bourbon on ice. Smooth with a kick, a chill and a burn all at the same time."

With this purchase, the Russian beverage powerhouse now owns PBR, Lone Star, Old Milwaukee, and Schlitz, to name a few.

The American brands of beer that were once working class brews and featured in 60’s country anthems are now Russian owned.

At the risk of sounding overly patriotic, this kind of disappoints me on the current global beer market. All of the beverage and brand holding groups large enough for this purchase aren’t American companies anymore, so there wasn’t a large enough domestic group to keep PBR in America.

This will probably affect my purchases in the future, and that really, really bums me out, because I loved Lone Star and PBR on a Saturday night.

Still gonna drink it.
